Short Term Rental Reporting

Simplifying Vacation Rentals in Indio

As part of Indio’s recently adopted Short Term Rental (STR) Ordinance, the city has rolled out a 24/7 STR hotline and online complaint portal www.indio.org/codeviolation. If you need to report an active complaint about a vacation rental such as a loud party call (760) 541-4222. Provide the vacation rental property address, describe the disturbance, and most importantly, be a good neighbor! If you have any non-active complaints, such as suspicion of an unlicensed STR, you can report via the portal www.indio.org/codeviolation.

The new ordinance sets evening quiet hours from 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. No outside music and loud use of outside amenities are allowed during the quiet hours. Overnight occupancy is two people per bedroom plus four. Daytime occupancy limits: lots less than 14,500 sq. feet is 24 people. Lots greater than 14,500 sq. feet is 40 people. Special Events permits are required for all commercial parties and events.
