Turf Update
As we transition into the fall season, residents may begin to notice changes in the appearance of the summer grass.
The summer turf is beginning to show signs of dormancy, and this will become more noticeable as we begin the scalping process and reduce watering.
Winter Rye Installation
Winter rye seed will be installed following the summer turf scalping. After the seed is placed, aggressive watering will be applied for approximately two weeks to encourage proper germination and establishment.
During this transition period, residents may notice changes in the color and appearance of the turf as the winter rye becomes established.
Summer Bermuda Dormancy
The summer Bermuda grass will remain dormant throughout the cooler months and is expected to stay dormant until approximately March or April, when temperatures begin to rise and the Bermuda starts actively growing again. At that time, residents may contact the HOA to request an assessment of the Bermuda turf. This assessment will help determine whether any areas require new Bermuda sod.
Shrub Trimming
Shrub trimming will take place after the turf scalping is completed. This will be a hard trim intended to promote healthy, vigorous new growth throughout the spring and summer growing season.
Fall Tree Trimming
Fall tree trimming will also begin soon as part of our seasonal landscape maintenance program. This work will help maintain the health, appearance, and proper structure of the community trees.
